Last week, over 60 Women participated in the 20th annual “Women Setting the Pace” event hosted by ProFormance Racing School.

To kick off the celebration, we were greeted by Don and Donna Kitch, founders of ProFormance Racing School, along with 15 of their highly-experienced driving instructors. After a breakfast of champions, we split into two groups — novice and intermediate/advanced. The experienced group hit the track for some high-speed lapping, while the novice group got behind the wheel for some intense breaking exercises. This was a perfect exercise to not only get comfortable with our vehicles but to break the ice of any fear or doubt.

The smiles and excitement continued through the morning exercises. During the lunch break, we were joined via zoom by the legendary racecar driver Lyn St. James. Unfortunately, Lyn had to cancel her in-person appearance due to an illness. All of the Women received her latest book, An Incredible Journey with a personalized note and some words of wisdom….”Just Go For It!”

After lunch, we hit the track for an afternoon of lapping with our instructors. It was amazing to watch and feel the growth in confidence, lap after lap we were getting faster and stronger. It was a powerful experience; I don’t think any of us wanted it to end!

Before the day came to a close, our friends at Park Place Ltd. brought out a couple Aston Martin DB11’s for thrill rides around the track.

The entire day was full of fun, camaraderie and inspiration. We challenged ourselves and pushed our limits. Cheers to all the amazing ladies that participated! Thank you to the entire team at ProFormance Racing School for putting on a fantastic event!
