Last Saturday, the ladies of Avants came together for a day of driving and celebration in honor of Women’s History Month.

The morning started at LeMay - America’s Car Museum with a special program and tour given by our dear friend and President of the Alfa Romeo Club, Fred Russell. The program “If Alfa’s Could Talk” focused on Women in racing.

After the program and museum tour, the ladies ventured off on a beautiful drive around the Key Peninsula with arranged stops at Alderbrook Resort and Hama Hama Oyster Saloon. Several ladies enjoyed shooting oysters at the oyster saloon and some brought some home, it was the perfect pit stop!

The drive ended at Rhys & Karisa Haydon’s home tucked away in the woods of Port Orchard. On arrival the ladies were greeted by several classic Porsche’s on the lawn. The dinner table was set with flowers, candles, wine and handwritten cards for each of them.

Before dinner, Rhys & Karisa invited the ladies out to their barn where many classic Porsche’s are stored. Rhys captivated the ladies with his charm and fun stories about the cars.

At the end of the evening, everyone shared their personal stories, accomplishments and goals. It was a perfect way to end the day. Cheers to the ladies of Avants!

Special thank you to our photographers, Tom Fathi and Dylan Nokell for capturing the day.

And a very special thank you to Fred Russell and our hosts, Rhys and Karisa Haydon.

Avants has a full calendar of events geared specifically for women. Throughout the year, we’ll be having tech sessions, drives, auto-x, social events and more! Be sure to check the events calendar for what’s next.
