A small group of lucky Avants members got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity last weekend to visit the Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (a.k.a the "Lambo Lab").
Special thanks to Dr. Paolo Feraboli and Dr. Bonnie Wade for teaching us all about the world of carbon fiber technology and its history in the automotive industry. From the early days of the Lamborghini Countach Evoluzione (designed in part by the one-and-only Horacio Pagani) to the latest forged carbon tub used in the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, Lamborghini has been a pioneer in the development of carbon fiber technology.
It's an absolutely amazing facility! As a gearhead, it doesn't get much better than this. Extremely educational as well as entertaining.
