Are you interested in digging deeper into how engine calibration works? Avants Portland member, Jeff Sponaugle, is hosting a coffee-and-learn session exploring the concepts, techniques, and process behind building and modifying an engine calibration a.k.a TUNING. This session will focus on the fundamentals of engine calibration, from OEM to aftermarket re-flashing to complete standalone systems touching on key concepts around fuel control, spark control, knock detection, and emissions control.

This is certainly a technical session, but the most important tool you need to bring is curiosity.

Our host, Jeff Sponaugle is an electrical engineer, software and hardware engineer, and car enthusiast of the most technical kind. He spends his time between building software companies and doing professional calibration work, building hardware and reverse engineering software, as well as the usual assortment of automotive activities.
